Defence Should Redefine Its Targets

DEFENCE is one area where the Prime Minister, John Howard, hopes for a sharp distinction between the Coalition and the Opposition. His Government is strong; Labor will be weak. Labor imperilled Australia's security by allowing defence to run down, but the Coalition has been rebuilding it. To jeopardise that work would threaten Australia's security.
